Hi, my name is Jess. I’m from Yorkshire, and have been based in Leeds for the past thirteen years or so. I have an MSc in Information and Library Management and I gained my MCLIP in April 2016. Currently I work as a Subject Librarian in HE.

Professionally I am involved in my local ARLG Committee, am Sponsor Relations Officer for the LILAC conference,  and am one of the co-founders of LISDIS. My publications in LIS  can be accessed through the University of Huddersfield repository. I am currently completing a PGCHE.

Between 2010-2013 I ran The Travelling Suitcase Library, appearing at festivals across the UK.  I am known on occasion as ‘The Book Elf’, and tweet under @BookElfLeeds.

My first degree is in Creative Writing, and I have written a fair bit, mostly for LeedsBookClub and ForBooksSake. I’ve also had writing on The Guardian, CILIP and other book blogs.I am also a crafter, my main interest being in cross stitch and crochet. I was also on the organizing committee for the Leeds Big Bookend 2015 and Leeds LadyFest 2013. I am an avid watcher of Scandinavian Crime Dramas and drinker of Stout. Frustratingly, I do not own a cat.
